Duroblade-Omega is yet another evolution of the well-known high-performance blade for paper and board coating from BTG.
Duroblade-Omega is not a ceramic blade but a tungsten carbide based coating blade belonging to the Duroblade-Phoenix family. With this new blade you can obtain a drastic reduction of lines and streaks with a substantially longer blade life compared to ceramic and a much better coated paper surface.
The tough and dense tip material also ensures better resistance to blade tip damage.
Precise bevels and appropriate surfaces, combined with an optimized deposit of carbide, make Duroblade-Omega a top-notch blade. It provides improvements of both paper surface properties, e.g. smoothness and gloss, and machine runnability. However, the main benefit of Omega is the drastic reduction of streaks and lines, while keeping all other benefits provided by high-performance carbide blades. Streak- and line reduction has been proven on board and fine paper, in both stiff and bent applications. The advantages of using Duroblade-Omega are: lower streak frequency, stable profile- and coatweight control as well as stable paper surface properties during blade life.
