High-performance solutions for the enhancement of your wet end productivity

CLOSED LOOP CONTROL

FOR A QUICK RETURN ON INVESTMENT AND SUSTAINABLE BENEFITS

Based on a wet end survey, BTG experts can help you work out the optimum ONLINE installation for your plant in terms of which chemical to control, which analyzer to install, and which installation point(s) to choose.

Our process engineers also support you in closing the necessary control loop(s) in order to optimize chemical dosages and stabilize your wet end process. Both actions will guarantee a quick return on investment.

Benefits of closed loop control

  • Defined project scope and schedule
  • Flow charts and control diagrams
  • Description of control logic
  • Implementation of control loops
  • Loop tuning and documentation

Fixative Control The main objective is a better performance of functional charged chemical additives by stabilizing the dissolved charge level. Positive side effects are chemical savings, a reduction of deposits and a more stable machine operation. The precondition for starting a fixative control loop is reliable and accurate online measurement results for dissolved charge (anionic trash) in the process.

Retention Aid Control The main process benefits are a stable white water consistency and with this a stable consistency over the whole process, optimum retention at minimum chemical cost and a higher machine speed. Proven quality benefits are a more stable basis weight, increased filler content in the paper and a more uniform paper quality overall.

Retention Aid Control in Board and Linerboard In board and linerboard production, drainage is a critical issue. The main function of the applied chemicals, often referred to as retention aids, is to improve and stabilize drainage. BTG has therefore developed a special retention aid control concept for board and linerboard machines based on drainage measurement. The key benefit is a higher machine speed due to increased drainage on the wire.

Deaerator Control The main objectives are cost reduction due to less average chemical deaerator dosage, elimination of pinholes, reduction of deposits and drainage improvement. The precondition for starting a deaerator control loop is reliable and accurate online measurement results for free and dissolved gas levels in the process.
