Duroblade-Silkoat is a new paper and board coating product from the Duroblade R&D facilities. Its components, based on metallic materials, enable the papermaker to produce a paper surface quality that has never previously been reached with any high-performance blades.
The blade tip wear-resistance is similar to that of current ceramic blades on the market.
The dense tip material provides better and more stable profiles throughout the blade lifetime.
The improvement of the paper surface quality - eg smoothness, gloss and defect frequency - is obvious in high-quality grades, mainly for topcoat and high grammage, in both bent and stiff mode applications, on every coater type.
The main advantage of using Duroblade-Silkoat is the silky and bright coated paper surface quality achieved.
